The woman behind the standard.
Rooted in Vaalgras.
Built by courage,
care and purpose.
Before the titles and more than 23 years across hospitality, travel, aviation and tourism, Getruida Stephanus is, at heart, a village girl from Vaalgras in Namibia’s ǁKharas Region.
Her journey began behind a hotel reception desk and grew into a remarkable career across Namibia and Southern Africa. In 2008, she became the first Black Namibian woman to own and run a fully IATA-accredited travel agency, which she led for 14 years—guiding a team of more than 20 and managing leisure, corporate, government and VIP travel.
Yet her work has never been defined by numbers alone. What matters most is the feeling of getting it right for someone. As a devoted mother, Getruida brings that same instinct into everything she builds: care lives in the smallest details, and presence matters.
Her path has included rebuilding and beginning again—with greater wisdom, deeper purpose and an enduring commitment to service. The Getruida Standard is the culmination of that journey: decades of African travel experience distilled into one deeply personal promise.
For Getruida, luxury is not measured by excess. It is found in thoughtfulness, peace of mind and the feeling of being truly seen and cared for.
